My take on a classic of the harsh noise makers tool set. The rattle contains a contact microphone and a tensed metal spring/thread. the rattle is muted by pushing one normally closed button, for abrupt cuts and haptic noise slicing. Additionally there's an external input for brutal feedback attacks or for routing in other signals, like synths or tapes/samples/voices for example. The external input is activated by pushing a momentary normally open button switch (in #2 both switches also have a latching position. The level of the external signal is adjustable with a dedicated volume control. Build into a painted recycled/found thermostat enclosure (#2 aluminum with plywood bottom). Handmade by GRM for METSÄÄN.

(*I figured that on both devices, there is no total silence possible if it is plugged in into my distortion pedal fully cranked up. but if it is not cranked all the way it is. so a noise gate, might come in handy.)
